Review of The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006) by Misterj R — 07 Nov 2013
I'm not going to be too harsh with this film because I am not the target audience for it. I have no idea how kids take to this film, maybe they enjoy it. As for me, I was bored, yawning, checking my watch, and had no trouble at all taking restroom breaks.
This third entry in the Tim Allen Santa series shows me that it was a wise decision for Disney to bring it to an end. The North Pole of this movie doesn't feel magical to me, it feels like a cheesy TV sitcom stage set.
Tim Allen is likeable as always, and Martin Short is delicious sinister as the wicked Jack Frost. The story is a bit uninspired and there's a shortage of laughs or genuine feeling in the film. That's how I reacted to the film, that's how it made ME feel.
As for the kids, they may or may not be more forgiving.
