Review of The Santa Clause (1994) by Jeremy C — 01 Dec 2012
A great family Christmas film. Our kids laughed along with us, enjoyed the magic and wonder, and my 6-year old even said he felt a little like he was going to cry... (near the end). I like the mix of sentimental & silly, even in spite of some obvious theoretical problems. I think Santa's magic should operate in a sort of time-space "freeze" so he could get around to all those houses. BUT, then he wouldn't have been caught by the cops or ever be visible to anybody.
Ah, but that's the beauty of a movie like this. It's imagination and creativity open the doors for us all to do a little thinking for ourselves. I've got my ideas for the reality of Santa... do you?
