Review of The Sandlot (1993) by Sam C — 09 Dec 2011
The Sandlot one of the best sports movie in my mind and a great family comedy. The Sandlot is about Scotty Smalls who just moves into a new neighborhood with his mom and step-dad. He hasn't made much friends and he's not very good at a baseball but one day he meets Bennie, who is the leader of a group of people who play baseball at a place called the Sandlot.
He soon gets good at baseball and makes many new friends but also gets them selves in a huge pickle. Sometimes childhood favorites aren't always as good as they were when you were a kid but The Sandlot is still great as I watch it now a days.
When I was big on baseball in my earlier childhood years I thought this was one of the best movie ever but as I watch it now it's not as spectacular than I thought it was, but it's still great.
The story is great in this movie and is probably one of the best friendship movie I have seen yet. Even though this is a family movie it proves that it doesn't need all that raunchy stuff to make a movie funny, this movie has many laughs all throughout the film.
The acting by all the kids in this move was also really good and impressive. Tom Guiry gives a really good performance as the lead in this movie, Patrick Renna gives the most laughs in the movie, but my favorite actor in this movie was Mike Vitar.
Mike Vitar plays Bennie and I think his character was such a cool guy and Vitar was perfect for this character. Overall The Sandlot is a great sports comedy and a great family movie that should be seen by anyone.
