Review of The Sandlot (1993) by Ryan V — 09 May 2012
The Sandlot revolves around a ragtag group of kids who bond while playing pickup baseball. The focal point of the plot swings into motion when one of them accidentally lands a Babe Ruth-autographed baseball in a cranky neighbor's junkyard.
It's up to the kids to retrieve the priceless ball while dodging the guard dogs and avoid being noticed. The nostalgic nature of The Sandlot puts it in roughly the same territory as A Christmas Story.
While this picture doesn't have the same classic status as that other film, The Sandlot is still a charming and entertaining family feature.
