Review of The Sandlot (1993) by Ryan A — 24 Aug 2015
One of those rare, childhood films that I hadn't seen as a kid, even if I did play baseball up until my last year of high school. What strikes me is how the story and characters are just generic enough to give any young boy the sense that it describes at least part of his youth (somewhat akin to "A Christmas Story", even down to the narration).
Plus, I'm starting to think James Earl Jones really likes baseball too, considering he was in two within the span of 4 years ("Field of Dreams" having come out in 1989).
