Review of The Sand Pebbles (1966) by Victor L — 22 Jan 2005
:fresh: This is a good war movie that shows a problem that still happens now. I mean, why does USA have to get involved in every comfrontation in the world?.
Wise directs a great cast and gets great performances: Steve McQueen, Candice Bergen, Attemborough and Crenna, they dazzle here!. Great war scenes and environment takes, make this film a delightful experience.
This is undoubtely a War Classic and joins the list of the greatest films of the genre: Longest Day, 12 o'clock high, Patton, Das Boot, Tora! Tora! Tora!, Black Hawk Down.
I didn't like the end, that final suspense should have ended in something better. Thumbs Up, Anyway.
