Review of The Salton Sea (2002) by Aaron G — 14 Jun 2008
Brilliant neo-noir from director D.J. Caruso (Disturbia). Kilmer gives an understated performance as a drug-addled loner in dire need of closure after the murder of his young wife. Already on its way to becoming a cult film, The Salton Sea boasts powerhouse turns from Anthony LaPaglia, Vincent D'Onofrio, and especially Peter Sarsgaad.
But, it's Caruso's visual flair that really speaks volumes. A real treat for those who love their noir's much more edgier and a little more obscure.
