Review of The Salt of the Earth (2014) by Beth N — 09 Apr 2015
The re growing of the rainforest on his family's land offered the possibility of redemption on a planet ravaged by war, cruelty and human suffering. Salgados gifts are numerous and his own personal story is still buried somewhere in the film.
Long separations from his wife and son have not dimmed their own commitment to his work. What eventually happened to their 2nd child? The breadth of subject matter is quite stunning. Brace yourself for a visit to Hell and back.
A remarkable life.
