Review of The Safety of Objects (2002) by Enrique D — 27 Feb 2008
Oh ..people... sometimes they think they need everything and sometimes they feel guilty of everything. In this film you cannot separate the urge from the guilt as every chracter depicts their thoughts about family, friends, sex, love and hate.
It's a right down copy of a Magnolia script structure, but without the strict linear course of events. It's a very good film for those who like to keep thinking about their own lives. Yes..those who live in movies looking for identity and self consciousness.
Glenn Close is not as great as Dermot Mulroney. He's the most pitiful character in the film. I liked the opening credits too...very original.
