Review of The Saddest Music in the World (2003) by Sandra D — 16 Jun 2008
So I'm writing this in the middle of watching it, but I can't wait to profess my adoration for this movie. Someone recommended this to me while I was raving on about Blue Velvet. At first I thought it was by Rossellini connection alone that it was mentioned.
Hell no, this movie is very much "if David Lynch directed a comedy (and of course it would be titled 'Saddest Music." This is hands down the most wonderfully ridiculous thing I've seen in a long time.
I'm drifting between considering this as either completely sincere, completely surreal, or utter and upfront camp. Either way, it works!
