Review of The Saddest Music in the World (2003) by Whitney B — 03 Sep 2008
I prefer a more chaotic (or poetic?) Maddin who needs title cards just to keep the audience on his trail (i.e. brand upon the brain!). This is still an excellent and highly creative film. The premise is out of this world, and yet the last line is proof that a cliche can give true depth to a story.
But be warned: it contains some of the saddest music in the world.
