Review of The Sacrifice (1986) by Ed Q — 18 Aug 2007
A masterpiece of mood and subtle tension. The long takes serve to draw the viewer into the frightening world of the film, in which the world is on the brink of self-destruction. Deliberate pacing, acting and cinematography create a haunting experience that personifies Tarkovsky's theory of sculpting in time.
