I wanted to like this film. It's plodding, and a bit full of itself. The topics Tarkovsky touches upon are interesting, but he demands so much attention from the viewer to get anything out of it. I have a feeling this is a movie that takes several viewings to appreciate, but I could barely stay awake long enough for one.
