Only a found-footage movie when it wants to be (editing choices, music kind of ruin that), The Sacrament is far from West's best work. A lot of plot holes and choices as mentioned before make it hard to look past and just take this as is.
Also, you walk into this movie knowing the ending, and it does nothing to subvert that, but despite all of this, it's still intriguing and Gene Jones is fantastic.
