Review of The Sacrament (2014) by Frank F — 13 Jun 2014
Undoubtedly the best horror film I've seen all year. Without spoiling too much, the plot is a mix of all the primal nature of which dwells within all humans, making 'The Sacrament' scary on a level to the point where jump scares are useless as well as hauntingly disturbing.
The climax is set in large open spaces and perfect sunlight, as opppsed to the dark, dismal lighting 99% of horror films go for in their tiny claustrophobic settings, meaning all the more originality and cleverness.
I was left shaking after watching it, with spectacular dircetion and great acting. The story is physically terrorising and will inevitably have you thinking about it days after watching it, creating a fear of what people themselves can potentially be.
