Review of The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming! (1966) by Tiffany D — 03 May 2014

While not as funny as the hype implied, the brilliance of the film is not the slapstick, but rather the wry satire and the historical context in which it was made. Those points withstand the hands of time.

.. Regardless, the cast is strong, particularly Carl Reiner doing his Jimmy Stewart-iest, and the accent-laden Alan Arkin (who knew he could be so handsome?!). Although I doubt I'd watch again, it's a solid 3 stars worth viewing once.
