Review of The Running Man (1987) by James D — 09 Sep 2012
Didn't really know what to expect from this film, but being a huge Arnold fan I was looking forward to it. Looking back at the date, I kind of knew what I would see, 80's style action, cheesy lines, and some low tech special effects.
With that in mind, I actually liked this movie a lot, just thought that there could've been a little better of a storyline and action to go along with it. Yeah, it gives you a pretty original premise and the acting by Arnold is good, but I just thought it was missing that extra oomf that makes his action films top notch.
Great cameos and acting from Jim Brown and Jesse Ventura, I really like that Arnold puts them into his movies, because they definitely fit the bill. Don't expect anything spectacular from this film, but its definitely enjoyable, and worth a rent.
