Review of The Rundown (2003) by Mickey M — 07 Mar 2013
Retrieval expert "Beck" (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) is hired by a Kingpin to go to the Amazon to bring back his son (Seann William Scott), who is in search of a priceless artifact. The two slowly become partners to fight a heartless gold-mining corporation owner (Christopher Walken).
The action scenes, especially the fighting scenes, are simply amazing. They are well done and are shot very well. The director was on his game when setting up these scenes.
The direction in other scenes are well done as well. They are nicely shot -- especially shots of the Amazonian jungle.
Most of the acting is near perfect, and the chemistry between "Rock" and Scott is really good. The only poor acting is done by the veteran actor, Christopher Walken. In my opinion, Walken's performance is horrible, and his delivery of his lines is one of the worst I've ever seen. Walken just can not act well enough to make him believable in the role.
If you want to see a movie with fair acting and great fighting scenes -- see "The Rundown". It's a fairly good movie.
