Unremarkable biopic detailing how Joan Jett got her first break in the music industry: It plays along with all the usual cliches that go with this type of film i.e. kids hungry for fame get their chance, then come the drugs and arguments etc.
Kristen Steward is believable as Jett, but Dakota Fanning seems a little out of her depth, not to mention a tad bland. The real stand-out is Michael Shannon as their nutso manager. Other than that, its run-of-the-mill,with a story that doesn't have much to say for itself.
