Review of The Runaways (2010) by Kevin C — 11 May 2011
Before this movie I had not heard of The Runaways and I have never been into the sex, drugs and rock & roll scene so I was not expecting to like this movie. Despite that perspective, the movie managed to draw me in.
Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning were amazing as Joan Jett and Cherie Curie and Michael Shannon absolutely eerie as Kim Fowley. The musical performances were strong and the emotions were intense even when expressed through the blurred lens of drug highs.
