Review of The Runaways (2010) by Lorrie K — 17 Mar 2012
I am a huge fan of Joan and Lita, so I wanted to like this. I realized it was going to be the Cherie/Joan show, bit I expected a better script and performances. Wow. It was worse than movies made in the 70s on every front; sound, direction, script, performance, cinematography ( check "Over the Edge," "Little Darlings," and "Casey's Shadow" to see the style this was copying, and see why Lucas had to invent THX sound, sound in 70's movies was awful!).
I basically give this film one star per runaway, so if the director had spent any time on the other 3 it would have gotten a full sweep. I will continue as fan-girl for my band, but not this film or it's director (I'm sorry Joan exec produced it, frankly).
