Review of The Runaways (2010) by Holly R — 14 Nov 2012

I wasn't expecting this to any good, to be honest, but after watching it for the first time tonight I'm really impressed. Particularly by the performance on Kristen Steward as Joan Jett. I often think of Stewart as a pretty plain actress, probably much to do with her woeful Twilight Saga performances, but her grunt and guts in this film has proven me wrong.

This girl can act. The story kept a fast tempo throughout, keeping me entertained and glued to the screen. There were a lot of really beautiful shots in this movies, which helped evoke raw emotion when required.

I'm left with no choice but to give this 5/5 stars, due to the pure fact that I really enjoyed myself. No shame.
