Review of The Runaways (2010) by Melody Of Your Demise ~ — 07 Oct 2010
I've always liked the runaways' music but wouldn't consider myself a huge fan or anything but found myself interested to see how it would turn out. The thought of Kristen Stewart playing Joan Jett really didn't make me happy since I honestly can't stand the girl (no offense..this girl cannot act) and Dakota is always great in any role she has done so far.
Overall the movie was ok. it primarily focuses on the relationship between Cherie Currie & Joan Jett. The music was great & I, personally, thought that their re-enactment of the song "Cherrybomb" while on tour in Japan was dead-on accurate.
Michael Shannon steals every single scene he is in as "Kim Fowley" the glitter-punk crazy man behind the runaways. Kristen Stewart has redeemed herself somewhat in my eyes with this flick.
I would only recommend to fans of the runaways and only them.
