Don't watch this if you are a true fan of The Runaways. It's a very populistisc picture of the group, involving sex, drugs and rock n' roll in all it's "glamour" (with the Twilight cast).

It's lightweight entertainment but at the same time it's not claiming to be anything else. I don't think they could have done this so much better then they did, because it's The Runaways we're talking about, not Beatles, and there were nothing special about the group except for the fact that it was an only-girls rock group (which was very rare during that era). So with that in mind I have to say that they kind of succeeded with this movie. It got quite some attitude with a feministic twist.

Still, it would be much more interesting if they had decided to make a movie about only Joan Jetts or just put here more in focus. She's much more interesting then the rest of the group and not to mention a sooo much better singer and musician the the rest of them. Kirsten Stewart was pretty good as Joan Jetts, got the style and gestures just right.

As for Cherie Currie, I have to say that Dakotah Fannings portrayal of her was very flattering, for Currie that is...

Another thing I must give the movie, is the fact that the music in the movie is very much better then the Runaways' original music, but of course that don't say much since The Runaways were fainfully bad.

All in all, this was an ok movie that don't ask too much of your brain. Just don't have too high expectations on it, like I said.
