This dizzying display of film trickery cannot make a decent flick out of college angst hollywood style. Billed as a comedy, this is far from it, and comes off as sort of a Bohemian melodrama, pulling every convention out for all to see, even if the viewer doesn't want to see it.

At times, the pretensious drivel that passes for dialog in this drops to the level of My Dinner with Andre (as in really boring), only to have an abrupt suicide or attempted suicide in the very next scene, for no explainable reason at all.

Since the viewer is so assaulted with images, (some of them sexual, but hard to make out) it is imposible to get to know anyone in this movie, so when one of them dies, it carries no emotional context.

Certainly a drama, not a comedy, as there are NO jokes in it. Not a good drama either, because afterward you just want to take a shower and go to bed. Doesn't need repeat viewings because it's good.

Needs one just to figure out what the heck just happened.
