If you were a fan of the book, I think this is definitely worth seeing. I liked the book, so I obviously enjoyed the movie enough. However, there are some definite flaws. For one, all the characters suck.
They are all stupid, hateful, crude, and sick jerks who should really knock it off with the stupidity. The film is extremely slow paced, which feels weird with it's very hyper active tone. The sex was a little too much in my opinion.
There was literally a scene in which people with walking around naked in the background while the characters in the foreground didn't seem to notice. The soundtrack, while definitely pretty sweet most of the time, feels a little too abrasive at a couple moments.
I thought it was cool, but most people will be turned off by it. There are some wonderfully directed scenes in here. There's an incredibly graphic suicide scene that doesn't feel at all gratuitous, a split screen sequence of a meeting between two character, and a wonderful fast forwarding of a man's adventure in Europe.
If you like films with a lot of color, you might like this. If not,there's still AMERICAN PSYCHO.
