Lots of folks complain it isn't a good an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' book as it should be and that the cast is questionable. Come on, there's a lot more boldness and harshness going on here than in ten episodes of Gossip Girl.
As far as teen and college movies go, this is one of the better ones.
