Review of The Rules of Attraction (2002) by Matt L — 05 Jan 2009

I was trying to think of a movie with characters that I consider hedonistic, and this one came to mind.. especially the guy who went to Europe. But really, there isn't a single likeable person in the whole film.

. they're all self-absorbed douchebags. I'm not sure that Ellis had that in mind when he wrote the original book, but it was sort of enjoyable to see all the WB stars turn into even worse caricatures/stereotypes than they already played.

I also liked the soundtrack. Not so much the edits and camera work, that was also masturbatory.
