Review of The Rules of Attraction (2002) by Sam P — 11 Apr 2012
I watched this other night, and I kinda wasnâ(TM)t sure what to expect, Iâ(TM)d enjoyed American Psycho but had heard this had polarised critics. By the end of the film, I felt polarised myself, uncertain how I felt about the film.
There were several moments I was impressed by, especially the split screen, but there were other moments were I felt a bit bored. The most interesting character was Ian Somerhalderâ(TM)s Paul, who typically had the least development and scenes.
James Van Der Beek wasnâ(TM)t bad, but was a bit OTT at times, and Shannyn Sossamon was an interesting actress, but with a 1-dimensional character. I feel it had potential to be brilliant, but ended up justâ¦ok.
