Review of The Ruins (2008) by Trina B — 04 May 2010
What starts of as being a bit your typical Americans abroad horror ( paradise lost, hostel) turns into something very different and whilst it is nice to see a horror doing something original it doesn't quite work.
This is a 50s b movie but played like a typical 21st hollywood horror and the two don't really mesh together. This film is played too straight to when you consider what they are up against. The film would work better I feel if it were more Tongue in cheek.
