Review of The Ruins (2008) by William F — 16 Dec 2010
The Ruins has a terrifying premise weakend by a rushed script and subpar performaces. The Ruins is about 5 people on top of an ancient ruin, stuck their by some natives. They wanted to explore the ruins, but now they are quartined for reasons unknown.
And they eventually find out. There is a sort of plant that acts like a virus that gets inside you, and makes you go mad. Many of the characters stab themselves to cut out the vines inside them. It is quite freaky at times.
. But the script is so rushed and unbelievable the only thing that could make for that is the acting, which is mediocre. Some of the acting is ehh at times and at other times its forced and unbelieavble.
There isnt any strong acting moments. But The Ruins still managed to frightend me somewhat by its ghously clever premise that makes me now want to read the book. 6/10.
