When The Rugrats Movie originally hit the silver screen, to me (I was 6), it was an incredible movie. Today my opinion holds up, but has slightly changed. The Rugrats Movie is an incredible children's movie.
The animation is good, songs are catchy, and story holds a heartwarming message, everything that is needed to keep the attention of a six year old for 89 minutes. Adults will not be let down though as there are some obscure references and laugh out loud moments that will keep them engaged as well.
In the end Rugrats should be taken for what it is, fun. As long as viewers pretend that there is no Pixar, The Rugrats Movie will seem like an excellent children's film.
