Not laugh out loud but extremely amusing and quirky which does not make it any less of a comedy. Wes Andersons unique style gives us a different kind of comedy. He has accomplished something very rare here.
He has in fact invented his own sub-genre. All of his characters are completely original and fully formed and this is no mean task considering the number of starring roles. Everyone involved is fantastic but Hackman steals it for me.
Not everyone finds Andersons style engaging. I think he is brilliant.
