Wes Anderson has made his masterpiece. It's going to be hard for him to match it. One of the cleverest comedies to happen along in ages. The cast is A-Class but is more first class, each character is as lovavble than the other and there's never a dull moment.
Gene Hackman is brilliant as Royal Tenenbaum, his best role for a long time, Ben Stiller is suprising good as Chas, a man who lost his wife a year ago and is very VERY protective of his kids and having issues with this father.
Bill Murray should've had more screen time but is great on screen, to be honest it's hard to praise everyone as they are all equally good, it's one of the finest performances in a comedy drama for a long time.
The storyline may be a tad simple but it's this that makes it a great watch. The comedy is very witty and at times very dark, showing issues of Mid-life crisis and mental breakdowns but the film is so full of heart, you'll laugh, cry and enjoy every moment.
It's well directed and is already a cult classic. It's a film that'll be hard to beat so just for now, stick this this and just relax. Great comedy drama that covers every issue of life...
And lies.
