Review of The Rover (2014) by Michelle A — 17 Jun 2014
This is a dark, gripping and disturbing tale set in the outback of an Australia that has collapsed into financial ruin. It all starts with a man who doesn't take kindly to some people who stole his car.
The cinematography, set in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia, is ironically beautiful, but even that is out-staged by the brilliant acting of Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson. It makes me proud when the South Australian Film Corporation makes a movie of the quality and impact of this one.
