Review of The Rover (2014) by Zack B — 29 Aug 2014
An absolutely stunning piece of filmmaking that thrills in the tradition of films like No Country for Old Men that slowly introduce us to characters in such a way that it feels as though we genuinely "meet" them.
Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson both enhance this effect with their unwaveringly good performances. The musical score is an eerie masterpiece. David Michod's direction is tireless and at times savage.
He's definitely in-your-face and in a compelling way.
