Review of The Rover (2014) by Quincy T — 11 Mar 2015
The desolate landscape of post-apocalyptic Australia matched with the searing performances of Pearce and Pattinson creates a haunting vision of the near future. Pearce is riveting as a mostly silent wanderer who is on the verge of losing his last remaining shreds of humanity.
Pattinson is equally impressive as the wanderer's unwilling traveling companion. There is no comfort to be found in the world that writer/director David Michod has created, but that's part of what makes this film memorable.
