Imagine a deadly-serious post-apocalyptic PC game that is completely devoid of humour. where your character (who is possibly depressed and definitely slightly unhinged) wanders around the landscape killing random civilians in order to get what he wants, apparently with limited concern as to whether he lives or dies in the process.
What does he want? It might be to get his car back, although the game doesn't really explain your character's motivations. Now imagine same story as an extraordinarily slow-paced movie. Sound like fun? It isn't.
And when the motivation is finally revealed, it could barely be more depressing. Definitely not a date movie. Unless you're trying to get dumped. that is.
