Review of The Roommate (2011) by Eric G — 27 Oct 2011

The story is about a girl who has an obsession with another girl. That's it. That's the entire story. I cannot believe how dumb this film is. It is by far one of the worst films of this year. So far they could have extended the plot to interest the audience more but instead we got a bland basic "obsession" story.

Let's compare this to another film that was similar to The Roommate and came out at the same year as that film: The Resident. The Resident is a film about a nurse who has been offered a house by a man and like 20-45 minutes later into the film, the man becomes obsessed with her.

They treat the story far differently in that film, keep fans interested as the story goes on and keep the tension on for the specialized moments and as both movies were over 15, The Roommate shows it's audience a cheap sketch of it's work.

Only a couple of parts were tense, interesting, and enjoyable but the rest is a boring cop out that tricked the audience. But I will say this. I will give this film a 2/10 for two reasons. One is for those sexy girls bonding with each other was really hot and two the jumpscare with the girl tied to the bed with the cloth in her mouth really got me and that's it.

Everything else sucked about that movie. Go and see The Resident, it's similar to The Roommate but it's a far better film and will keep you entertained. The story of this film is paper thin!!!! It's takes the girl an hour and 10 minutes to find out that her roommate's obsessed with her.

Really, after threatening her friends, not taking her medication, stalking and following her, killing a cat, tattooing her sister's name and when she first appeared out of nowhere in your bedroom saying "I'm your roommate.

" you didn't have the slightest bit of suspiciousness to figure out this girl was a psycho, really? There aren't enough medication in the world to make you smarter you moron. The direction of this film makes Uwe Boll look like Scorcese.

The drama is bad, the suspense is stupid and pointless and the movie is a iconically tragic incident. The Roommate get's a 2/10 and that's final. This film is a sad incident that could have been good but never tried at all.

but hey I can predict that they are movies that could be worse than this in the future.
