Review of The Room (2003) by Louis Y — 11 Jan 2018
Wow, where do I start? This movie is so bad but now I finally understand why it has a cult following. Tommy Wiseau's The Room is somehow poetic. With the usual mix of love and tragedy and for some reason I got pulled into the story itself.
Yes, the story itself isn't that bad but the acting and the awful dubbed voices to add in more flavor into the characters is just oddly satisfying in its own way. Halfway into the story, it got heavy and while it's so bad along the way, I still wanted to know what happens in the end.
Would I watch this movie again? Believe it or not, yes I would. It has its own richness that you can't put your finger into it and even if I say that it's so bad so many times, it's like I want more.
Tommy Wiseau established something here that no other did and that even movies tend to be bad, there are still people out there that loves this stuff. So count me in on that because it's so strangely bad but good in its own way.
