Review of The Room (2003) by Ryan V — 30 Nov 2016
Tommy Wiseau's The Room was intended as a stirring romantic drama, but its stilted script, robotic acting, awkward scene blocking, and incompetent story structure drove it to become a perennial feature at midnight screenings and a fixture on bad movie lists alongside Troll 2, Showgirls, and Plan 9 From Outer Space.
The main question one has for films like this tends to run along the lines of whether it's actually fun to watch or if it's just a tiresome slog. Personally, I was able to enjoy myself since I watched this one with a few good friends after a few good drinks.
Your mileage, however, may vary.
