Review of The Room (2003) by Abdullah A — 30 Nov 2017
Holy hell. This was an experience by which I mean this is definitely one of those films so bad that it's unintentionally funny as hell. The plot is actually super simple. Johnny (Tom Wiseau) is a supposedly successful banker living in San Francisco with his fiancee Lisa (Juliette Danielle).
Well turns out Lisa doesn't love Johnny anymore and starts an affair with Johnny's best friend Mark (Greg Sestero). And literally that's it. There's Lisa's mom Claudette (Carolyn Minnott) who keeps poping up and giving Lisa terrible advice (apparently marry for the money) and then there's awkward ass Denny (Philip Haldiman) an 18 year old kid that Tommy is helping get through college.
Anyways this movie is bad. Like probably top 5 worst films I've ever seen. The acting is like a bunch of porn stars trying to do a dramatic film, so basically its hilarious. Tommy's voice and others is dubbed a lot throughout the film and it doesn't even match up I'd say 60% of the time.
The film was even shot with film.....and digital which is just bizarre throwing off the style of the film if you can say there's a style. The movies good for a laugh and really more so for the story behind the making of it (definitely Google this one trust me).
Overall, if you're not into seeing a terrible film skip this one forever...or perhaps check it if you want The Disaster Artist (2017) to even more funnier.
