Review of The Rookie (1990) by Michael W — 22 Dec 2012
Formula buddy cop film with pairing of rookie Sheen and grizzled vet Eastwood, who are a danger to anyone in their general vicinity. Follows the Lethal Weapon blueprint but not as good. Nice touch on the amusing closing scene, where Sheen and Eastwood are placed in different roles from the opening scene when they are first partnered.
Tom Skerritt is wasted in a bit part.
