THE ROMANTICS is a very interesting film with good cast, but it had the potential to be so much better. The film is character based, each being very different and complex, but they share a special friendship.
The only character who seems really out of place is Lila (Anna Paquin), but I believe this was intentional. However, Lila is not a sympathetic character and is a control freak, which makes you wonder how she was a part of this group.
Katie Holmes and Josh Duhamel had good chemistry with each other and they were believable as two people whose love affair and passion are a force of nature that cannot be denied or forgotten. Overall, a decent film.
