Review of The Romantics (2010) by Craig T — 30 Apr 2011
So...about that ending. I wasn't planning on liking this film. Half of the cast was overrated and for the other half their potential didn't shine through. The script and the movie was pretty interesting.
It slowly picked up steam at the end but somehow just died at the ending. It was enjoyable, somewhat predictable but what it lacked most was originality. The screenplay had lots of boring gaps, it was another wedding movie, something between My Best Friend's Wedding and Rachel Getting Married.
Katie Holmes acting here wasn't as bad as I thought. However, her casting was almost the downfall of the movie. There was absolutely no chemistry between her and Josh Duhamel. All the male roles were pretty uninteresting and shouldn't have been included.
This movie was good if you're catching it on TV but something to pay for, its not worth it.
