Review of The Romantics (2010) by Mike P — 22 May 2011
WARNING - CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THOSE BORED ENOUGH TO WATCH THIS.
The film begins with old college buddies (aka "The Romantics") getting together for a wedding that is clearly destined for disaster. It's clear, from the slow beginning (don't expect any pace change), that the groom to be is in love with another "Romantic" and it's so obvious that every character in the film seems to know this too; who, incidentally, all seem to be with the wrong partners as well.
The awkward tension from the beginning carries on throughout the film until the all too predictable and sudden ending.
In conclusion, this film is slow, it's dull and the only surprise I had was that I didn't switch it off shortly after it started.
