You'll either love it or hate. All you need to know is that it was certainly never intended to be a work of art. If you think it's campy and a tad lame, that's the point. The film is supposed to be a parody of cheesy B-movies from the 50s, with music and sex thrown into the mix.
On that level, it soars.
