Review of The Rocketeer (1991) by Bill R — 05 Apr 2008

In my opinion, one of the two best live-action movies Disney ever did(the other being The Rookie.).

I first saw this when I was four, and still watch it whenever it's on. I guess the reason I like it so much is because it doesn't get boring at any point, there's a good cast(including two Academy Award winners), they stayed true to Dave Stevens' original story, and the scenes with rocketpack(like when he goes up for the first time to save his buddy in the plane, or when he fights the Nazis on the blimp) are impressive for the time.

It's also hard to believe Joe Johnston did a good job directing here, when he later directed crap like Jurassic Park III.
