Review of The Rocketeer (1991) by Carol H — 02 Feb 2014
I see this when I was younger with my dad, don't remember much else about it other than that I did see it in the cinema. Revisiting this later, this is actually a pretty decent movie. There were a ton of these comic/serial adaptations around this time and I like this one as one of the better ones.
Billy Campbell is a down on his luck pilot who happens to find an experimental jetpack which is from the Nazi's. They learn he has it and come after him. Timothy Dalton is the bad guy and Jennifer Collins is the love interest.
It could have been better with all the talent involved, but it just does the bare minimum. Dalton feels a bit overdone compared to everyone else, but it sort of works. It was enjoyable, but could have been so much more.
Wish this could be revisited sometime, the idea is good and hope this isn't the last of this franchise.
