Review of The Rocketeer (1991) by Skyler I — 26 Jun 2011
This is another film I enjoyed quite a bit as a child, but the reasons why are lost on my older self, as this film is pretty mindless and unexciting (not all that surprising, considering Joe Johnston directed it).
There are plenty of plot holes and James Horners score can be really annoying, but the film does hold a bit of entertainment value. Timothy Dalton gives a decent and menacing performance as a famous actor who.
..is a Nazi? For some reason? And none of his peers have caught on? Like I said, stupid. Jennifer Connoly's beauty almost makes up the price of admission by itself, though.
